The community starts to explore its creative side.
Pepe the Frog and Vitalik Buterin, in coordinates (0, 2) at Decentraland.
In Decentraland, you can do anything. Seriously. Because our users own their land, they have full rights to create anything they want, without limits.
While our community is working on some cool projects (eg. casinos, portals, museums, VR theaters, work districts, etc.), we were excited to spot the creation of two internet legends: Pepe and Vitalik Buterin.
Both have been major inspirations for Decentraland.
First, our decentralized world is unique because it’s not owned by us: our users own it. Anyone can purchase LAND in Decentraland. Through the Ethereum blockchain, which Vitalik Buterin co-founded, a permanent and immutable proof of ownership is created.
Second, the Rare Pepe community has trailblazed the creation of rare and unique digital items. The trading of goods within Decentraland will be integral to its economy. Innovators like the Rare Pepe community are helping unlock new potential for digital marketplaces.
But it’s not just Pepe and Vitalik (which you can see live on Decentraland here). Through our Community Vision Program, we’re granting free MANA Tokens for feedback and project proposals. Our community is already working on transportation networks, regional Chambers of Commerce, virtual zoos, auction houses, and much more.
One of our favorites was submitted by an urban planner, a great case study on how experts in a wide range of industries can apply their skills and passions to an immersive VR world.

We’re Just Getting Started
We’re gearing up for our token sale scheduled for August 8th. This is an opportunity to buy into the exponential growth of virtual reality.
