Aragon @ ETHDenver Recap

An incredible weekend of building and bonding with the Denver community

This past weekend several members of the Aragon team, including Jorge, Luke, Oliver, and myself (John), attended ETHDenver in Colorado, USA. ETHDenver is an Ethereum community event featuring a hackathon and workshops.

As we shared previously on the blog, Aragon helped sponsor the event this year and provided bounties for Best App/Integration and Best Proposal. What followed was a whirlwind a weekend of hacking, mentoring, learning, and bonding.

Art + Community

One of the unique aspects of the ETHDenver event was their inclusion of artists and the local Denver community. This wasn’t just a hackathon or a conference. From a silent art auction mediated by a smart contract, to inclusion of Denver Kids, to Flobots headlining the closing ceremony, ETHDenver was very much an event focused on building and connecting the community.

Workshops and Panel Discussions

Jorge and Luke from the Aragon team were invited to give several presentations and represent Aragon on a panel discussion during the event. Many thanks to the ETHDenver organizers for giving us the opportunity to share our perspective and progress working on the important issue of decentralized governance.

You can find video from all of the workshops and discussion panels that the Aragon team participated in on the ETHDenver Facebook page. Here are the timestamps for each video:

Hackathon

We were surprised and delighted to meet over half a dozen teams building on Aragon during the course of the weekend. But at the end of the hackathon, we had to choose from among them the winners of our bounties.

We are pleased to share the following winners of the Aragon bounties:

Huge congrats to these teams on their success, and huge thanks to all the other hackers who participated as well. We’re excited to continue growing the Aragon developer community and improving our documentation and code to make it even easier to start building on Aragon.

’Til next time!

ETHDenver was a blast. BIG ups and gratitude to all of the organizers, volunteers, and community members who made it happen. We hear that even after all of their hard work making this year’s event a massive success, the organizers are already planning the next event for 2019. We can’t wait to see what they come up with.

To everyone we saw or met at ETHDenver, it was great hanging out! See you at the next one đź™‚
